Welcome to the BeaverTech Robotics Team Information Center
At BeaverTech Robotics, we believe that learning, innovation, and teamwork are the foundations of success. Whether you are a returning member, a new student eager to join, or a parent interested in supporting our program, this page serves as your central resource for everything related to BeaverTech Robotics – FTC Team 22882 and FRC Team 6533.
Here you’ll find key information about our team structure, expectations, leadership, and how to get involved. Our goal is to ensure that every member and family understands how BeaverTech operates and feels empowered to contribute to our mission of inspiring students through STEM, engineering, and gracious professionalism.

About Our Teams
BeaverTech Robotics provides opportunities for students to participate in both FTC and FRC programs, depending on their experience and interests:
-
FTC Team 22882 (6th-8th grade) focuses on smaller-scale robotics with an emphasis on programming, precision, and teamwork. It’s ideal for newer members or those looking to develop foundational technical skills.
-
FRC Team 6533 (9th-12th grade) takes engineering to the next level with full-size robots, complex systems, and high-intensity competitions. It’s where students experience large-scale collaboration and advanced problem-solving.
- We are currently investigating starting an FLL team as well for even younger students so we welcome attendance by younger students to help research and attain this goal.
Together, our teams form one unified community of learners and innovators — guided by mentors, supported by parents, and driven by passion for technology and discovery.
We welcome every student in the community whether they attend Beaverton Schools or not and look forward to working with everyone!

Team Handbook
Our Team Handbook is the cornerstone of how BeaverTech operates. It outlines expectations, safety protocols, and member responsibilities, including our Code of Conduct and Member Requirements.
Every student, mentor, and parent should review the handbook before each season begins. It ensures that everyone understands how to contribute to a safe, respectful, and productive team environment.

Leadership
BeaverTech is led by a combination of student leaders and adult mentors who guide the team’s technical and organizational efforts. Student leadership roles include positions such as Team Captain, Subteam Leads (Mechanical, Electrical, Programming, Design, and Marketing), and Outreach Coordinators.
Mentors bring industry experience in engineering, manufacturing, programming, and business to help students learn real-world applications of STEM skills. Our leadership structure fosters collaboration, accountability, and the development of strong communication and management abilities in every member.
Calendar
Our team meets throughout the school year and into the summer, with specific seasons for each program:
-
FTC Season: Typically runs from September through December.
-
FRC Season: Begins with the kickoff in January and concludes with competitions in March and April.
In addition to build sessions and competitions, the calendar includes outreach events, fundraisers, and team socials. Members and parents can stay informed by checking our regularly updated team calendar.

Youth Protection
BeaverTech Robotics is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students, mentors, and volunteers. The safety and well-being of our team members are our highest priorities. We follow the FIRST Youth Protection Program (YPP) screening and training process. This ensures that every adult associated with our team upholds the standards of conduct and safety established by FIRST. We also encourage parents and students to review these policies so that everyone understands their rights and responsibilities in maintaining a secure and supportive team environment.
Joining BeaverTech Robotics
We welcome new members who are curious, motivated, and ready to learn. Experience is not required — only a willingness to participate, collaborate, and grow.
The joining process includes:
-
Attending a team meeting.
-
Reviewing the Team Handbook with a parent or guardian and bringing the signed last page back.
-
Meeting the registration and fundraising requirements outlined in the handbook.
Once joining, students will be able to experience subteams based on their interests and skills and ultimately join one or more subteams. Mentors and returning members help each new member get comfortable with and train on tools, software, and safety practices.
